I write to you in support of the letter sent to you by Mike Currie President of IFSA to express our concerns about the potential effect of the Prior Notice regulations on the day to day operation of both airlines and caterers.
We have consulted with all our UK contracted airlines and do not understand the need for alerting the FDA of some left over cans of beverage and small unopened bottles of liquor on flights inbound into the US, these will only be used for return sector catering into the UK and pose no significant danger to passengers. There is no possible way of Airlines determining the volume of product which will remain on board the aircraft at "wheels up" upon landing in the US.
We respectfully request therefore as the UK largest in flight caterer, member of IFSA, and on behalf of all our UK contracted airlines flying into the USA that prior notice be exempt from inflight catering products supplied to aircraft.
