| A large volume of prescription claims data will become available as a result of the pharmaceutical portions of MMA 2003. Currently, many Medicare patients are not receiving the recommended medications to treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and heart failure. With use of the Rx claims database, mechanisms to improve compliance with nationally developed treatment guidelines should be strengthened and promoted. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
