| Please do not allow emergency contraceptives to be issued without a prescription. This would most certainly increase unprotected sex and sexually-transmitted diseases, including AIDS. It would ultimately place a much greater burden on healthcare providers and cost to society than requiring a visit to obtain a prescription for such measures. In addition, it would eliminate the opportunity for a healthcare provider to counsel patients on safer sex and sexually-transmitted disease. I urge you not to allow emergency contraceptives to be made available without a prescription.
