| Dear Sirs,
By removing CFC-containing albuterol medications from the market before generic, cheap, safe alternatives are available, the FDA would be putting the lives of low-wage asthmatics at risk. Though safe alternatives do exist and the need to remove CFCs is great, if only one life was lost because the available rescue medication is too expensive, the gain from removing CFC-containing albuterol would be mute. The present cost(on drugstore.co) of a generic albuterol inhaler is $13.99, the lowest price non-CFC containing albuterol inhaler is $38.99. Please reconsider removing the CFC containing albuterol from the market until an affordable alternative is available. Sincerely, Mark Davis-Lorton, MD Director of Clinical Immunology Department Of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology Winthrop-University Hospital 222 Station Plaza N Suite 430 Mineola, NY 11501 (516)663-3519 | |||||||||||||||||||||||
