As a member of IFSA (Inflight Food Service Association) and a focused supplier to the commercial airline industry in the United States, our company continues to suffer greatly from the financial and regulatory burdens in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 tragedy. Although we applaud the proactive efforts of the federal government to mitigate future acts of terrorism, we find that the proposed FDA documentation requirements will further burden our industry in a sea of paperwork. We respectfully ask that the Secretary withdraw or drastically modify these proposed regulations with an eye toward seeking meaningful regulations that will provide cost effective security measures.
