Barilla Fiori Pasta (privacy) called to tell us her egg-allergic daughter had two reactions. The first time she had some hives after eating about 4 pieces of pasta. The symptoms were mild, and (privacy) was not sure what brought them on. Several days later she ate about 10 pieces, and about a half hour later had hives on her neck, back, and chest. Shortly thereafter she started wheezing and (privacy) administered the EpiPen. When (privacy) called the manufacturer she was told that this new shape of pasta is made on shared equipment with egg-containing pasta. (privacy) does not have any of the pasta left. Country Oven Honey Wheat Berry Bread by Inter-American Products, Inc. (privacy) called to tell us she bought a loaf of this bread that contained sunflower seeds that were not labeled. She encountered this some time ago and reported it to the manufacturer. She was upset to see that the problem had not been corrected. _______________________________________ Debbie Scherrer, Member Communications The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network 10400 Eaton Place, Suite 107 Fairfax, VA 22030 1-800-929-4040 Phone: 703-691-3179 Fax: 703-691-2713 http://www.foodallergy.org/ _______________________________________
