Hannaford Brand 100% White Corn Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips - (privacy) called to tell us she found a cheese tortilla chip in the bag she purchased. She called the manufacturer and said they did not seem concerned that this might pose a risk for someone with milk allergy. Whole Foods certified organic Dark Chocolate - this e-mail is from (privacy) My daughter, age 2.5, allergic to dairy, had a reaction to Whole Foods certified organic Dark Chocolate made in Switzerland. The first bar she ate one small segment. She said her throat hurt and coughed. She didn't want to eat anymore. She had no hives so I thought nothing of it. Second bar she ate from was on a graham cracker with marshmallows. She has had both of those before with no problem. She took one bite that contained only a tiny bit of the chocolate. She said her throat hurt, started to cough and got hives on her face immediately. I gave her Benadryl and luckily did not have to use her Epi-pen. I have portions of both bars. Klondike Bars - this e-mail is from (privacy): Recently I have noticed a change to packaging of Klondike bars - they never labeled that they contain peanuts and now they have on there that may contain nuts. Pillsbury Fudge Brownie Rich & Moist Brownie Mix - (privacy) called to tell us she bought this product for her nut-allergic child. It had an allergy warning that it is made on shared equipment with egg. She felt confident that since they had a warning about one allergen that they would have included other allergens, such as nuts, in the warning if there were a potential problem. She was surprised when she called the manufacturer and was told that the product is made on shared equipment with walnuts. She did not use the product. _______________________________________ Debbie Scherrer, Member Communications The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network 10400 Eaton Place, Suite 107 Fairfax, VA 22030 1-800-929-4040 Phone: 703-691-3179 Fax: 703-691-2713 http://www.foodallergy.org/ _______________________________________
