Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments Adding vitamin D3 from fish oil sources to fruit juices would eliminate those juices with the additive from use in vegetarian diets. Since the number of healthy pre-processed and packaged foods available for vegetarian consumption are already somewhat limited, this would further restrict already limited options and create a hardship for vegetarians and vegans. The change also has the potential to affect a sizable number of people since more and more individuals are adopting a vegetarian diet as a way of addressing concerns about heart disease and other diet-related chronic illnesses.
