I believe that the FDA has sufficient authority to enforce the supplement industry. I am strongly against any further change to the FDA's legislative authority. The 1993 Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act already increased the FDA's authority to regulate the supplement industry--such as the legal power to eliminating whole classes of supplements that may pose an immediate danger to the public. The FDA is only now using its authority, and time should be given before any new legislation is passed.
