Although, I agree that ephedra can be a dangerous substance if in the wrong hands and for the wrong purposes, it has been used safely by Chinese Medical Practitioners for thousands of years. Some sort of regulation is a good idea but must include the right of trained herbalists to include ephedra in herbal formulas for specific health complaints. As a trained herbalist(Nationally Certified by the NCCAOM)I know which formulas to add small amount of ephedra to and how to modify it with other herbs so it has a beneficial and not a harmful effect. Please allow those trained in the traditional use of ephedra to continue to do so.
