Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments We own a health/natural food store in Holton, MI, USA. My customers & I appreciate the Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act of 1994 regarding protection of our right to choose our own healthcare. I do not want the FDA to implement their power at all above the DSHEA. Recently I want the DSHEA to work as it is designed before the FDA calls in their new laws. Personally, I want the FDA kept out of the Supplement industry completely. Unfortunately, there are people in the FDA with personal agendas regarding their position with pharmaceutical companies. Hey, hire unbiased people that are not involved with Monsanto or Major Pharmaceutical Companies. It is their agenda to have from the cradle to the grave food, medicine, healthcare. I do not want part of it. And neither do my customers. Money is the FDA's objective, not people's health. DSHEA actually increased the FDA's enforcement. They can seize a dietary supplement if it presents unreasonable or significant risk of illness or injury. The government can stop the sale of an entire class of supplements if posing imminent public health hazard. I agree that the DSHEA provides FDA enough legal authority to protect public health. DSHEA has improved customer access to dietary supplements & information about them - increasing consumer protection. I strongly support DSHEA and do not think any additional legislative authority is necessary for FDA to regulate ephedra or any other dietary supplement. Thank you, Polly Wilson P.O.
