I have been using Biolean, which is a product of Wellness International Network, Ltd. over 7 years. This product contains 37.2 mg of ma huang. I had severe allergy and asthma, when I started on this product and was on about 10 different prescription medications. Now the only prescription medication I use for my asthma is an emergency enhaler, and that is only used occasionally, if there is a bad pollution day.
The medications I was taking had much more harmful side effects than the small amount of ephedra could ever have on me.
I also have been obese and for the first time in my life, I am not losing and regaining 50 pounds at a time, thanks to Biolean.
People die every day from taking prescription drugs and over the counter medications. Usually they took them incorrectly or overdosed on the drugs. I am curious why there isn't a big push to pull every decongestant off the market that has pseudoephedrine in it? Could it be the powerful pharmaceutical companies that prevent that from happening. I think the push to pull herbal dietary supplements off the market is very political and unwarrented.
I do believe in good labeling, and I do believe that bad products that have dangerously high levels of ephedra and caffiene should be banned, but I think it is a travesty to pull a good product that has helped so many people with not only respiratory problems, but weight management off the market. Obesity will kill more people than a product that has a little ephedra in it.
I doubt that Johns Hopkins would be doing a clinical study on our product if either they or we thought it was harmful.
I think the government should look at banning tobacco and alcohol, which kills far more people than ephedra does. Over 400,000 people will die because of smoking. I am just trying to make a point that focusing on one herb that has very small adverse effects on people, when there are other legal substances that do way more harm is ridiculous.
