Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments I am opposed to any further legislation governing the sales and use of supplements. DSHEA has given the FDA the power to seize supplements that pose an unreasonable or significant risk of illness or injury. Also the Dept. of Health and Human Services can also stop the sale of an entire class of dietary supplements if they pose any imminent hazard to public health. The FDA has been cracking down on claims and aggressively pursuing governance of dietary supplement manufacturers with existing jurisdiction. It has also said that good manufacturing practices for supplements are imminent. Give these efforts a chance to work. No further legislative authority is necessary. Sincerely, Mei Wei Wong Sedona, AZ 86336 As Dr. Jane Henney said in her testimony before Congress, DSHEA provides FDA with the necessary legal authority to protect the public health.
