Base on thousands of years of Chinese history, Ephedrine Alkaloids (Ma Whang) had been used for many Empirors through different dynasty. It is proven to be effective for many different usage, medicinally and dietary. It is also known that in high dose (like many other chemicals) will cause death due to adrenergic reaction.
It is unwise to stop the availability of the chemical due to a few that try to abuse the usage of the substance.
I hope the drug companies is not using this opportunity to corner the substance for their own profit. We all know how effective this chemical is for weight loss which is one of the major market for drug companies.
