I was very pleased that you reassured me that all e-mails and correspondence sent to the FDA regarding mercury amalgam dental fillings are being routed to Docket Number - 2003N-0169 even if the number on the subject line is wrong. Thank you. As I said, when we put the request to get scientific studies to the FDA docket, I must have accidentally put the wrong docket number and lot of the e-mails and correspondences sent to FDA had Docket Number 03N-0169. We appreciate you and your team's hard work to make sure that all of these e-mails are posted to the correct docket number - 2003N-0169. I know that one individual has sent hours sending in over 40 e-mails to include attachments, so we want to make sure that his information is recorded. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for your diligence to ensure the e-mails and correspondences are routed properly. Thank you. I have yet to see any of the e-mails posted to the docket starting with dates back to May 22, 2003 but I do realize that the computer system has had many problems. I truly do understand the frustration with computer issues and problems. As .I said in our conversation this morning, that I do not want to make extra work for you by having you verify duplicate e-mails. I want to work together and not make it hard on you or your staff. Thank you. Question 1: Do you have any idea when the early e-mails will be posted? Comment: I do realize that every day is very challenging with new computer issues and I do appreciate the hard work that your team is doing to record to the docket for public record. Thank you. Question 2: When would you like me to re-send the e-mails that I do not see posted? Comment: Again, I do not want to make extra work for you or your team but I know that you understand the important of getting all the e-mails recorded to the docket for public record. Thank you also for answering my questions to include why I was not able to search for "Mercury amalgam fillings" in the docket search before it was posted. I understand how frustrated systems are that don't talk/work together. I am glad to understand now that the Docket Management and the Federal Register don't talk - thank you. Question 3: Is 301-827-6868 the correct FDA fax number to send all correspondence for the docket? Question 4: Does FDA accept attachments with e-mails? Question 5: If question 4 is yes, are all of the following acceptable - pdf, Word, rtf. & txt? Again, Ms. Butler, thank you for all your help and I appreciate your help in answering my five questions. Have a nice day. Thank you, Mary Ann Newell Manager of the Files for Consumers for Dental Choice
