To whom it may concern,
I am very disturbed at the information I am receiving concerning biopharming. I do not understand why this policy
has no risk assesment in place. This is potentially a very dangerous and irresponsible approach. The risk of pollen drift is of major concern. Any contamination to other crops, including organic crops is unaceptable. With the risk to human health an unknown, this shows misguided priorities. I am the President of a organic food ingredient company and I am very concerned that these issues I mentioned are being ignored. If food gets contaminated, our customer base of food manufacturers, will start requesting offshore supplies where there is no risk of contamination. The results will hurt the US farmer and all trade in these areas. Please, for the sake of sustainable farming and the consumer's health, you must not allow these poilices to continue. We must put health and safety issues ABOVE the financial issues.
Best Regards,
