As bar code point of care systems continue to mature and become a standard of care, it is imperative that pediatric pharmacy not take a back seat by allowing smaller vials to be exempt from barcoding. These vials have a greater opportunity to be used in a pediatric setting and would become holes in the system and a sourece of potential errors.
