I do not think that conventional foods and dietary supplements should be treated the same. Supplements are intended to add to a diet lacking in specific nutrients,vitamins,electrolytes,amino acids etc.The consumption of these supplements should be controlled in some way. Too much of any supplement could pose a risk to the consumer.It is my opinion that supplements be treated more like medication. The advise of a physician should be sought in most cases to help the consumer decide what dietary supplement would benefit them most.
