I am concerned about new restrictions placed on DSHEA due to the safety of Ephedra. The present laws already give the FDA and the Department of Health and Human Services the power to remove ephedra if there is evidence that it is causing harm. Changes in DSHEA can only slow down the availibity of natural remedies (dietary supplements) that do have value. Companies that sell products that do not fit the FDA and DSHEA mold for dietary supplements need to be taken off the market and DSHEA already allows for this. Changing DSHEA will affect consumers looking for alternative healing as well as honest companies looking out for the well being of their customers.
