The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) gives the FDA all of the authority it needs -- in fact it already has too much. Using Ephedrine as an excuse to seize more authority is wrong! It's just another step in the Pharmaceutical Companies plan to outlaw anything that it cannot patent and sell for obscene profits.
