My daughter started taking mini-thins (ephedra) in the 9th grade. She bought them at the 7-11 store on the way home from school. She was not overweight. Her behavior changed She became very depressed and experience wide mood swings. Now at age 33, she has no teeth, osteoporisis, severe kidney stones. She has several spinal fractures. She lost a baby boy due to prematurity. She has severe thyroid disease. I blame her deteriorated condition on Orrin Hatch and his ephedra. Lisa worked for several years. She is too ill to work now. She was just denied disabiltiy. Her 15 year old daughter lives with me. She has a very hard tome taking care of her other three children. She shakes all of the time. Ephedra has lead to her abusing other drugs. I definately want this drug taken off of the market. Sharon Bench, LPN, RHIT, CPC
