Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments Studies have shown the use of Ephedrine Alkaloids to be more effective and safer for weight loss than any prescription drug on the market, yet the FDA proposes removing this excellent dieter's aid from the market. Why? Consider how many overdose incidents are reported every year from aspirin but I never see any mention of that in the news. Why? I would think it would be cause for alarm, tens of thousands of reports of problems is simply ignored. An effective, low cost product with proven studies showing it is effective such as Ephedra, should be available for all to use. It is ridiculous to suggest that the recent death of an athlete's was because of ephedra when it is obvious it was because he simply didn't drink enough water. Dehydration kills, yet no mention was made of that fact in the rush to blame the supplements. Obesity is epidemic in this country. Please allow the sale and distribution of this effective product, and please consider removing the prescription weight loss products that do not work and cause many problems, including death. Don't take away the one thing that could offer some assistance to overweight Americans. Thank you.
