The more recent research on this long used product have used a completely new technology to PROVE that the earlier assertions and assumptions that the mercury was "sealed" and could not escape was DEFINITELY untrue. The invention of vapor analyzers conclusively proved this assumption false. Numerous states have independently taken action to protect the health of their populations. FDA should not undercut these states rights to protect consumers. The research documenting hazards has been published in peer reviewed journals. I request that you revisit this issue before your agencies credibility is further entangled in the compromising leagal justifications for a long history of prior use when technolgy did not exist to conclusively show the gravity of the problem for all with an unbiased view of the subject. This means a new independent panel, without conflict of interest must be appointed. A new 60 Day Comment period must be opened up to allow a full expression of the opposition to the current policy "assuming" safety of Mercury Silver Amalgams. Sincerely, Arnold Gore Consumers Health Freedom Coalition
