We do have support groups you can click on from www.dorway.com . My phone number is 770 242-2599. Feel free to call me if you need to talk to somebody. Yes, aspartame can trigger lupus but sometimes it just mimics it. Aspartame is an adjuvant and forms antigenic tissue, triggering immunologic attack. Dr. James Bowen explains it this way: "The ability of methyl alcohol/formaldehyde to create antigenicity, especially as combined in aspartame molecules is so great as to cause severe autoimmune reactions to the tissues deformed by formaldehyde polemerization, adduct formation. The immune system turns against the victim's tissues: Lupus." In Dr. Roberts medical text he also explains that aspartame disease can also mimic lupus. It also destroys the central nervous system and mimics MS. Aspartame does cause agonizing joint pain because it hardens the synovial fluids. The main thing right now is to get you through this is. I know in Dr. Russell Blaylock's book, Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills, www.amazon.com he says to use magnesium citrate to protect the heart and brain from excitotoxins. This many helps the headache that sometimes gets really bad in withdrawal. Dr. Roberts in his medical text in the chapter on detoxification says to drink lots of distilled water to flush out the system, and only out of a glass container. Aspartame is also a chemical hypersensitization agent so you don't want to use any plastic. It also interacts with vaccines, other additives and toxins. And as a neurotoxic drug interacts with just about every drug used to treat the problems it causes. there is a chapter on drug interaction in the medical text. When you get a little better we'll talk about detoxification. I am so sorry you're going through this. There have been so many efforts to ban this deadly chemical poison, but the FDA's loyalty is with the manufacturer not the consumer. They know its a chemical poison and originally asked that the first aspartame manufacturer be indicted for fraud. However, they were so powerful that both U.S. Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired. I recently wrote a Citizen's Petition for Recall but so far the only thing the FDA has done is approve an even more potent aspartame, called Neotame, with full knowledge its an analog of this poison. So what we are doing now is taking case histories for class action but it starts with brain tumors, seizures, eye deterioration and blindness triggered by this neurotoxin. As an RN I would definitely get these books as they will help you understand aspartame and what you have to do. Also, stay away from processed foods and especially anything that says artificial or natural flavors and remember that MSG is another excitotoxin and has a synergistic effect with aspartame just as fluoride does, also neurotoxic. In a week or so you're going to feel so much better. It will be worth what you are enduring. Be assured we will bring these monsters down who have done this to the human race. As Dr. Bowen told the FDA years ago: "This is mass poisoning of the American public and more than 70+ countries of the world." I just lectured from coast to coast in England and I can tell you the problems mirror those in the US. It's the same in Belgium. Sept 7th and 8th is Aspartame Awareness Weekend all over the world. When you get better be sure to fill out the Medwatch form on www.dorway.com to the FDA and send me a copy. And call me if you need to. Hang in there, it's going to be okay soon. All my best, Betty At 07:54 PM 9/1/2002 -0400, MDLawman@aol.com wrote: Do you have any information regarding the ACUTE phase of aspartame withdrawel? I'm a 41 year old Registered Nurse and two months ago visited a doctor for severe joint pain. I was told I needed to have several hundred dollars worth of blood test because I might have Lupus or some type of Arthritis. I did not have the blood test and ever since that time my husband continued to tell me he thought it might have something to do with the amount of diet coke I drink and Equal I use in my coffee. After we did a minimal amount of research last week on Aspartame, I stopped using it approximately 24 plus hours ago. I feel terriable. I hurt worse than I ever have, have called in sick to work and keep asking my husband if he really thinks it's the Aspartame. If you have any advice or information please let us know. Sincerely, Someone who thinks she is dying.
