The marketing onslaught affects the lives and health of our communities and children. We have a ten month old daughter and it seems to me the only way to protect her completely from advertising would be to move to another country! Advertisers are extending their reaches to younger and younger children - if we limit the amount of violence, sexual themes and inappropriate language children are exposed to in film and daytime TV, why not limit the manipulation of their desires and interests? This would be recognized as a national health crisis if the affects of advertising were examined carefully - it contributes to the explosion of diabetes, the misunderstanding of the benefits of pharmaceuticals and it diminishes the quality of time we have with our families. The FDA's job is to ensure that we are protected and that our rights as indivduals are as strong if not stronger than large corporations. Please do your jobs honestly and with integrity and do not extend first ammendment rights to corporations. Sarah Butler. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
