Dear Sirs: Are you not seeking Public Commentary on your authority over "Commercial Speech" concerning products under your jurisdiction? With all due respect, haven't we had enough of this advertising crap? It is getting farther and farther removed from reality! The more it's removed from reality, the more "it" becomes a LIE! And really, in your heart of hearts, you KNOW that you don't like people lying to YOU! Don't get me wrong. There's NOTHING wrong with telling people about your product, but haven't things "been out of hand" for some time? And you will have to admit-there IS such a thing as "sins of omission"! Now, no one expects-in our Free Enterprise System-to hear/see no commercials. I WANT to learn about new products, etc.. But I DON'T want to be lied to! There are other people like me, who NEVER buy the most advertised brand, figuring-like me-that if the product has to be THAT heavily advertised, then the product MUST not be that good, since the manufacturer is "relying" on advertising [heavily] to sell his product! Also, who pays for this Advertising/Commercial Speech? Why, WE do, of course! YOU and ME, in the form of increased prices. I respectfully submit to you, the "Nexium" ads as a perfect example. Is Nexium really THAT different a drug? Some people think that it's the SAME drug as Prilosec, repackaged, due ENTIRELY to copyright limitations. C'mon, you people! Isn't it bad enough that we get so many dangerous drugs on the Market, due to your-no offense-worship of the pharmaceutical industry? You know "the figures" as well as I do-I would just have to run and look 'em up. We have seen what happens when corporations are not given enough vigilance (Enron, WorldComm (sp?), etc., etc.. Here is your chance to bring some logic, some reason, some sanity back to out society. We NEED it, because I, personally, don't think that-at our present rate-we will survive (as a society) beyond 2050. Why? Because, by THAT time, EVERYTHING will be "packaging", with absolutely no "content". It's already starting to happen! And Daniel Troy KNOWS I'm right! Folks, enough is enough!
