We spoke briefly recently about the 2D barcode drug management program we are working on at NIH.  I did receive a copy of your proposed rules and they do fit very closely to the trial we are setting up.

My main drive is error reduction in drug management.  This will be achieved with 2D barcodes on drugs plus authentication of the patient and the healthcare worker.  Our process goes much further in that we can do a facial biometric match using information stored either on the patient’s wrist ID or on staff ID.

I would very much welcome the opportunity to speak at your public meeting on 26 July.  In addition to this forthcoming trial I also am part of a design team that introduced the same technology for a veterinary healthcare project in Europe.  My presentation would be geared around the known problems and the achievable results using the 2D barcodes and possibly biometrics.

I have put together a short white paper covering these points.  This should be with you today.  What I need is firstly, an invite to present and secondly, some indication of the permitted presentation format, i.e. PowerPoint, white paper and the time allocation.
