Restrictions have become more and more lenient over my lifetime and problems have become greater and greater. Now, the problem is so severe that the third leading cause of death in the U.S. is iatrogenic, primarily from drugs. The doctor-patient relationship has been interfered with in this process as well. When I hear that corporations are being given the same rights as individuals I feel outraged. Corporations were meant to earn profits, not political clout. If a corporation is serving the public, they will reap the rewards. If they are causing harm to the public, government agencies need to step in and protect the public from them. In order to re-establish trust between the FDA and the public, establish safety in the use of drugs in this country, and restore the integrity of the FDA, I believe we not only need to oppose more liberal guidelines but we need to reverse this disturbing and detrimental trend and increase the restrictions currently in place. I am needing to be able to rely on the agencies that were established to protect me to do just that, to be able to trust that any changes that occur are for the good of all and the harm of none, for fun, entertainment, and accurate information when listening to the media, for honesty in advertising, and for the health and safety of those who use drugs. Are you willing to support me, and the American public as a whole, and oppose giving more freedom of speech to corporations? A concerned citizen, Terri Moon
