Introducing the smallpox virus back into the population is dangerous. Experimenting on small children is also dangerous, and I certainly, as a parent , would never consent to such a trial. If we vaccinate for smallpox, and there is no bioterrorism with the smallpox virus, have we not just intentionally caused a problem where there wasn't one? Could we even call this a form of bioterrorism that we inflict upon ourselves simply from a standpoint of fear?
