Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments I strongly oppose this study as the risks to young children far away any supposed benefits. If smallpox were a deadly disease with no known cure, and one that absolutely no one could survive after having contracted it, and if the threat of smallpox were imminent (and more serious than a veiled attempt to manipulate the public's view of terrorism and create support for a politically motivated agenda, then I might be more persuaded to condone a study of this nature. Unfortunately, this is another in a horrid history of medicine where the poor, the powerless, and the not-fully educated (via informed consent) are victimized, experimented upon and used a guinea pigs in the name of science.
