We have a fundamental right to educate ourselves about all of our options regarding health and wellness. Pharmaceutical companies have long controlled the *sickness* industry. The FDA regularly approves drugs, which by definition are toxic, yet want to limit labelling of nutraceuticals as being beneficial. The handwriting is on the wall. Drugs are not the answer. We must turn to prevention, which is only possible through good nutrition. Because our modern foods are lacking in many essential nutrients we must rely on food supplements to help us maintain/regain optimal health. Labelling on nutraceuticals with possible health benefits is much more honest than the advertising currently used by drug companies. Public health can only be harmed when consumers are driven away from the positive health benefits of supplements that are proven to be effective. Who are we protecting with the disclaimers on food supplements? The consumer or the large profits of pharmaceutical companies? Sincerely, A Concerned Citizen Lois Hill
