From: Anne Dunev [anne@wellbodyclinic.com] Sent: Thursday, March 21, 2002 4:50 PM To: Benz, Sharon A Subject: protect our rights to give animals herbs and vitamin supplements Dear Ms. Benz; Although I am a clinical nutritionist and not a vet, I have done extensive research on supplementation of animals because of my own pets. The early work in nutrition done by pioneers like Dr. Royal Lee, Dr. Weston Price and Frances Pottinger clearly demonstrated the importance of nutrition in the diets of humans and animals. Denying access to nutraceuticals benefits only one group; the pharmaceutical companies. If animals are denied supplementation, they will undoubtedly be more ill, need more surgery and pharmaceutical drugs. As a country,it weakens us since the health of our animals is an important emotional issue for many, many pet-owners. Please do not allow our rights as health consumers to be abridged. The constitution guarantees our right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Many of us consider our access to supplements of a herbal or vitamin and nutritional nature to be a matter of life, itself. Sincerely; Anne Dunev Anne Dunev, B.S., C.R.A.
