Companies can engineer foods all they like, but as a consumer, I have a right to know what I am putting into my body. I should have a the freedom to choose whether or not to purchase those engineered foods. I am particularly concerned about the potential for serious allergic reactions when food is not properly labeled, and the effect of engineered food on biodiversity. By allowing companies to avoid honestly labeling their produce, you are putting my health and security at risk. I thought that your agency was there to protect consumer's interests, not the agriculture/pharmaceutical industry's convenience and marketing. There is a reason why companies don't want to label their products. It is because many consumers have already made a choice not to buy engineered food - and that is our right. Please don't coddle big business at the expense of my health and peace of mind. Sincerely, Jennifer Marx
