I have recently learned of Docket Number 98P-0151/CP1 proposing to cut out
the market for downed animals.  I am writing in support of the above
referenced petition to completely abolish the slaughter of downed animals.
I urgently request that your office seriously consider acceptance of the
petition to prohibit the slaughter of downed animals as an effective method
of preventing animal cruelty when downed animals are brutally 'dragged' to
slaughterhouses despite their conditions. I will be following the progress
of Docket #98P-0151/CP1 closely and look forward to the complete prohibition
of slaughtering downed animals.  Thank you for your kind attention to this
serious matter that is of concern to all U.S. Citizens.
