To the FDA,

We are writing to urge you to grant petition 98P-0151/CP1 to prohibit the slaughter of downed animals.  

Moving downded animals humanely is impossible: they are typically pushed with tractors or dragged with chains to the slaughterhouse.

90% of downded animals can be prevented with better care and handling.

Removing the market for downed animals provides an incentive to treat animals better.

Please do the moral thing and grant petition to this docket to prohibit the slaughter of these vulnerable, tortured animals.

We would appreciate a reply.
