Meticulous long-term studies must be done before GE seeds and plants become so widespread that the genie cannot be put back into the bottle. And all GE food must be clearly labeled so that consumers will be aware of what they are putting into their bodies. I understand how eager industries are to become involved in GE foods -- but greed and the bottom line must not be substituted for caution and common sense.
