     As staunch consrvatives we do not normally seek more governmental
interference or regulations, but in th case of controlling  the quality
of the food  we eat, we strongly urge the FDA to take strong measures to
assure the safety of genetically altered food products.
    There should be long term testing to assure that it is safe to
consume..Labelling should be mandatory as it is now on other food
products. Also the potential pollutant effects on the environment should
be determined and announced.
