To whom it may concern:
I firmly support Docket # 98P-0151/CP1. I recently
learned of the FDA's petition to prohibit the
slaughter of downed animals. This is a big step in the
right direction, as the it will provide incentive, to
the those in the livestock indiustry, to treat
"downed" animals more humanely.  In addition to
euthanizing the injured animals, the livestock
industry will be compelled to act more effectively to
prevent the injuries that cause the animals to become
"downed" in the first place. Therefore, I support
Docket # 98P-0151/CP1. Thank you for your time and
consideration.
