Subject: Support for Docket No. 98P-0151/CP1

This letter is written in support of Docket Number  98P-0151/CP.  A great many citizens of this country, regardless of their political, religious, or "animal rights" affiliations are outraged and aghast at the cruelty that is being displayed toward sentient animals.  The atrocities suffered by animals who have already suffered greatly is absolutely unnecessary and disgusting. It is my hope that efforts will be made to outlaw the outright killing and subsequent processing of the flesh of "downed" animals. Instead, let us measure the "progress" we have made as a society by the compassion we display toward those who cannot help themselves, and who serve us in so many ways.
