It reminds me of experiments done in the past -- not only by German scientists on holocaust victim prisoners, but by scientists in THIS country on prisoners who had no choice. According to avaiable information, there has been no pre-market long-term testing to see what effects genetically engineered foods will have on the human body. Nor are there requirements for these genetically engineered foods to have labels so we, as consumers, can make informed decisions as to whether or not we wish to ingest such foods. Since the above long-term testing and required labelling fall within YOUR jurisdiction, I request that you implement these as "mandatory"! I don't wish to "guess" what I'm putting in my body -- I want to KNOW. Not all people have the option of growing their own food -- we must rely on others to do it for us. And for those of us who DO grow our own, is there any required labelling on the "seed" packets to inform whether or not we'll be growing "pure" products? PLEASE do your job -- it's imperative that you do. The health, well-being and survival of ALL citizens may hang in the balance.
