I would like you to require pre-market long-term safety testing of GE foods. I want to know that three things have been verified before GE foods come into the market: 1. That GE foods are not toxic by any definition of "toxic". 2. That these foods will not cause an allergic reaction. 3. That these foods will not compromise immune responses in consumers. Besides this, I think it is common sense not to introduce any more alien species into our environment. The introduction of such species (even if they are called "genetically engineered"), makes me uneasy. Please be informed that I consider it an unfair market practice and an abrogation of the freedom of expression to restrict the labelling of foods which are not genetically engineered.
