This an issue which effects Americans on the most basic level. Our very health is at stake. European countries have already recognized the overwhelming importance of this potental threat to the delicate balance of our eco-system, and have taken precautionary steps to ensure the safety of their citizens. Americans deserve the same rights. I commend the FDA for it's inclusion of a public comment period, allowing concerned citizens their say in this serious matter. In nationwide polls, the majority of Americans wish to have their food choices properly labelled, indicating what exactly it is they are taking into thier bodies and being able to make informed desicions about thier health and diet. It is time the public is protected rather than being unwitting gueina pigs in bio-tech industry experiments. Mantatory labelling and pre-market long-term health testing are just the first steps in safe-guarding our nation's health. The "revolving door" in which advisory commitee members pass through from industry to the FDA must be locked. With Americans best interests in sight, we can all have a healthier future. I thank you for your time and sincerely hope the voices of the American people are being heard and acknowledged. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
