From: Martin Zucker [mzucker@mindspring.com] Sent: Sunday, March 25, 2001 3:52 PM To: fdadockets@oc.fda.gov Subject: Docket 00N-1396 & Docket 00D-1598 Dear FDA: Never before in the history of agriculture has there been anything as unnatural as genetically-modified foods. Experts within the FDA have expressed concern about these type of foods being broadsided into the market without longterm safety testing. I too am VERY concerned about the safety and health implications for mankind. Better we put our emphasis on developing more natural, organic foods, free of chemical toxins and Frankenstein genetic tampering. Our country, and the rest of the world, will be much healthier. As protectors of the American people, I respectfully request that your agence require all such products to bear a label that they are genetically-modified. This gives consumers the choice to buy or not to buy. I also request that the FDA require STIFF mandatory comprehensive environmental review as well as long term health testing. As protectors of the American people, I further find it extremely unethical that representatives of the biotech industry work for the FDA writing regulatory rules regarding genetically-engineered products, and then return to their biotech company jobs. I am forwarding a copy of this request to my congressional representative. Thank you. Martin Zucker 4510 W. 129th St Hawthorne, CA 90250 310-644-5983
