There is a huge difference between these two types of knowledge. The natural process of evolution has resulted in a physical world where the web of life interacts positively with itself. Introducing so many experimental substances is bound to create substances that are highly dangerous in ways that are totally incalculable, except by interaction with life itself. This experimentation should be done in a controlled situation, not in the world at large. I think it is very irresponsible to our nation to make these foods available to the general population without thorough testing of their impact on life. It is a great risk as has been shown in some cases already. Why the hurry? Commercial interests are short sighted ...they should not influence a careful review of the impact of genetically engineered substances on all of life. We are jeopardizing the future of our nation and our human race because of pressures from the industries who stand to gain financially... a poor way to make scientific decisions. An unscientific way to make decisions. There is no reason that individuals should not be aware of what foods are genetically engineered....except that certain commercial interests may not make as much money as soon.....which is really almost a criminal reason. Please disallow the indiscriminate dissemination of these experimental substances until we really know their full impact. and Please let consumers have the knowledge that they are eating these substances.
