Dear FDA,
 
As a United States citizen, I usually enjoy the right to be made aware.  
 Aware of the impacts of what I do and of how I spend my money may affect 
this world.  I also share the right to choose products I feel are good for 
my health and the health of the planet as a whole.  Lately I feel these 
rights are slipping through the cracks of big business.

I am writing to you specifically about the FDA's policy on genetically 
modified foods.  I feel one of the main purposes of MY FDA is to inform me 
as to the type and potential health risk involved in the foods I eat.  I 
am writing to demand that genetically engineered (GE) foods be labeled to 
inform the consumer of what he is purchasing.  I know for a fact that you 
are not getting lets from Joe Public saying, "please do not inform me that 
I am eating GE foods.  I would rather be kept in the dark on this matter, 
thank you.  I leave the choice in the hands of the people selling me these 
products."  That simply is not the case.  The case here is that thousands 
of citizens are imploring you to demand that the food industry label these 
foods.  Not because we know they are harmful...simply because we do not 
know and we feel we deserve that choice.  

I thank you in advance for doing what you know is right for the people of 
this country and inforcing the labeling of genetically modified foods.
