Are you proposing legislation that >benefits Monsanto but essentially places the entire food chain at risk? >What if there were no publically traded companies in the loop of making >decisions? Wouldn't the government require more long term testing? How >about all the drugs that were put on the market and then down the road >they were found to have such adverse side affects that they could result >in someone's death? This is not a presription drug we are talking about, >this is about the food that you put in your mouth 3 times a day. It takes >time for disease to foster in the human physiology and you can't expect to >do research for 3 or 6 months, find that there are no observable side >affects and then give the green light for mass consumption. Look what >happened with tryptophan. People died. Let's make decisions based on sound science, not the uptick of a stock price. How can the FDA make a non-biased decision when the people making the decision have such close ties to the Industry that would profit most by those decisions? Can you answer me that question? Where is your conscience in this kind of decision making. Please tell me, where is it? You are not only putting your children at risk, but the population of the whole planet as well. Let's at least label the foods; that is absolutely the very minimum that the FDA should do. Sincerely, Steven Yellin
