The implications are too enormous to ignore sound practices requiring valid research to prove safety before release of unknown organisms. We citizens demand service and representation that protects our interests ahead of business profits. We are entitled to be informed through proper labeling if we are exposed to health risks we will not tolerate. To prohibit voluntary labeling of non-modified foods is pandering to special interests to a degree that is deplorable. I ask for a response from an identifiable individual to explain the FDA's justification for such callous disregard for consumer safety.
