From: Dan Rediske [dands@homernet.net] Sent: Saturday, March 10, 2001 7:49 PM To: fdadockets@oc.fda.gov Subject: dockets 00N-1396 & 00D-1598 To All Interested Parties: I am very disturbed and concerned about recent proposals for the regulation of genetically modified food products. I can not believe that in this day and age when we are acutely aware of the lack of nutritive value found in foods that are processed that the FDA would consider letting such a lax and useless proposal become law. Why can't the government, agriculture, and the medical community see that less is more when it comes to altering the natural state of things that we ingest? Please, do not allow genetically modified foods on the shelves of our grocery stores and market places. And if this horrible use of science is to be allowed, for all of us who care about what we and our children consume, PLEASE REQUIRE STRICT LABELING OF SUCH. Sincerely, Sallie W. Rediske
