Subject: GE Foods

Dear People,
The area of Genetic Engineering is an unknown quantity in terms of ingesting the results.  I strongly request that the FDA provide comprehensive labelling of GE foods.  I also very strongly request that NO FOOD that is GE get put on the market before a considerable amount of testing.
Because an item looks like corn, tastes like corn, smells like corn, if it is spliced with a substance that a person is allergic too, that person will UNKNOWINGLY ingest a poison.  
I am a health professional.  A client of mine is severely allergic to peanuts.  She cannot even sit in a plane when the peanuts are being opened because even the smell sets off an allergic reaction where she cannot breathe and has to be given oxygen.  Result is, she rarely flies, and then only if the airline will guarantee that no peanuts will be given out.
Ditto with strawberries.  Potatoes.  Gluten.  The list goes on.
I do not think that you wish to be responsible for poisoning the population you are legislated to protect.
Therefore I request that:
    1.  All GE foods and food ingredients should be labeled so I am informed and have a choice.
    2.  GE Foods should not be assumed to be safe and should be subject to mandatory pre-market safety testing.
    3.  There should be a moratorium on GE foods until long-term studies show they are safe for human health and the environment.
