Subject: downed animals

I am writing in support of docket number 98P-0151/CP1, the petition
submitted by Farm Sancturary to prohibit the slaughter of downed animals.
Downed animals suffer terrible abuses from factory farms and inhumane
handling.  Most downed animals are fully conscious & suffer intensely just
so the factory farms can make a few extra dollars.  In addition, the pose an
increased risk of bacterial contamination & they may have a form of BSE.
PLease support Farm sancutar's petition to help relieve the suffering of
downed animals.
